In Light of the Recent Planned Parenthood Videos…

Posted by Cindy H French on 07/29/2015

There has been a lot of questions, comments from both the “Christian” and secular world. Before anyone reads what I have written, please understand, I am not condemning anyone for an action they may have taken. God is always there to forgive. He says that He forgives all sin even your rejection of Him right up until you die-then it’s too late. I know that’s why Jesus came, because God is love and mercy and grace. But He also requires repentance and acceptance of His Son’s sacrifice, not so that you have to obey a bunch of rules and regulations and “conform.” But so that HE alone, who loves you so much, comes inside that body, that spirit-regardless of what you’ve done, where you’ve been, what you’ve said–and makes you clean and pure again. It’s really a miracle in and of itself. So understand please, I am not holding myself up as a paragon of virtue, but a sinner who found a savior.

I wrote this paragraph below in response to someone’s query of God help us…in response to the videos. He gets a lot of readers to his posts. then I thought I could do no less.

In Psalm 139, it says that God is there when our innermost parts are knit together. Why in the world does no one think that abortion is not murder for convenience? Now that they can sell body parts, it has become about that too. No wonder God has taken His Hand of protection off of America. How can He bear looking down upon our world today?
The disciples asked Jesus when they could look for His coming again. He said, “When it is like the days of Noah.” I would challenge anyone to go back and read about the wickedness on the earth when God was grieved that He had even created man. Yet found one good man, Noah. Noah and his family were saved because Noah listened and believed.
If we were to look around today at the wickedness in our world, I am sure that those in Noah’s world, could not have even imagined such evil! And yet the Lord delays. I am sure it is for that last one to come to know Him in a personal way. They say that thousands in China and across Asia come to Jesus everyday. People in India, and in so many Muslim countries are seeing visions of Jesus or dreaming of Him because that is the only way they might hear of Him, but they want to know the TRUE GOD.
The TRUE GOD says in the book of Isaiah, Seek me, and you will find me.
God is not a liar. Try Him, anyone who reads this and doesn’t know Him.

Following Up

Posted by Cindy H French on 08/16/2014

WOW! I sure got a lot of action with that last post! I know that Islam, Muslims, ISLA, are all hot topics today. Imagine my surprise when former FL Rep Allen West  came out today with his report of why Obama is an Islamist! God knew what I was going to write just as He Knew what Rep. West was going to write. Why are these things important? Because my God is also all-loving, most compassionate and full of mercy. He has prompted His people to write now as in times past to alert people about things that are happening (as well as going to happen). I do not claim to be a prophet–not at all. However, I do listen to what my Father says when He wants me to post something. I have said that often enough in most anything I have posted.  Last night after that post with the speech, I went right to bed.  As I lay there waiting for sleep to come,  I felt in my spirit, my Lord telling me that I needed to follow up with His Good News.

Please stay with me as I go through this with you. It may be really important information for you–if not today, then someday.

Most of you will have already noticed that I talk about a personal God, (my and Father probably gave it away!) One thing you may not know is that my God, the God of the Universe, the Creator, the Father of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Peter, Paul , John and so many others, is the only God of any kind to have a relationship with His followers? No other religion’s god does that. Another thing, my God has created a Holy Book, well, it’s actually 66 books, written by 40 different authors, most of whom didn’t know each other personally. They came from a variety of backgrounds: shepherds, fishermen, doctors, kings, prophets and others. It was written in 3 different languages (Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic) on 3 different continents, over a period of 1500 years. It has a common storyline throughout each book, of God and His love and forgiveness and mercy. There are no historical errors or contradictions. Anyone who has studied any kind of laws of averages, knows that unless God wrote those Books, through the authors, there would be no way that ordinary man could have accomplished that!

For me to continue now, using Holy Scriptures, you see why it was important that you understand where they came from. From the beginning, God has always had plan to rescue man. He has always known that none of us could ever be perfect enough to come into His heaven. That is why He sent His Son, prophesied from Genesis and continually through the Old Testament, even to His flogging and method of death, although it had not even been invented yet! Here is the first scripture, Genesis 3: 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he (the Messiah) will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. (crucifixion) Then,  I am going to skip over to Isaiah 53. Bear with me, there is a lot of important scripture here. Starting in verse 1 through 9: Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of my people he was stricken. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was their any deceit in his mouth.

If you have never read that passage before, that is Isaiah’s description of the Messiah’s trials, beatings and crucifixion. It even talks about the fact that Jesus never defended himself…hundreds of years before it happened. And yes, our Lord was assigned a grave with the wicked, but a rich man, a believer, gave him his tomb. I hope that this will make you want to read for yourself the accounts of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Savior of the world’s crucifixion. You can read about it in Matthew 26: 47- 27:60, Mark 14: 43-15:47, Luke 22:47-23:54 and John 18:1-19:42.

Thank our God and Father the story doesn’t end there! If you keep reading in each of those books, to the end of the chapters, you will read of the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, who conquered death and rose to sit at the right hand of the Father.

So for those of you who have stuck with me so far, thank you, but the reward will be yours. Let me leave you with 3 more scriptures… some of my favorites.

John 1:12  Yet to all who received him (Jesus), to those he gave the right to become the children of God.

John 14:6  Jesus answered and said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.

Revelation 3:20  Here I am! (the Holy Spirit of God) I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and abide (stay forever) with him/her and he/her with me.

Very simply to become a child of the most high God, you have to accept His Son. There is no other way, no other religion. The way you do it, is ask Him to forgive you for going your own way-which is never His way! because we just aren’t perfect people! Then you simply ask Him to come into your heart and He will! He always keeps His promises! It sounds too simple doesn’t it? But Jesus said it was so simple a child could understand and do it and many do. I wasn’t one of those. I had to go my own way for many years, but I am so glad that I made the decision to ask Him into my heart on June 20, 1971. I have been anything but a perfect woman since,  but God has never let me go and keeps me closer than ever now. It has been a growing process of getting to know Him, getting to know His Word. If I studied all day, everyday of every year, I still would not be able to know and understand all that is there, but that’s certainly the challenge of it! Learning and understanding.

I hope that you have listened as God’s Spirit has spoken tonight.

In His Love,

Cindy

HOW IMPORTANT OUR THOUGHTS!

Posted by Cindy H French on 02/12/2014

As a continuation of my post on Monday, we went to the doctor on Tuesday. Turns out I have pneumonia and costochondritis in addition to the pleurisy! Gee, no wonder I hurt so much and I am so very tired! My wonderful doctor (primary) loaded me up on antibiotics, 800 mg Ibuprofen and codeine cough syrup. She told me to hold a pillow when I cough. That helps with the pain of coughing. By the way the costochondritis is the inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and of course, it comes from coughing!

Last night was of course a little discouraging, so I went back to my Sunday devotional to remind myself that God was telling me that these afflictions are among His most favored gifts. It does take an act of will to choose to praise Him anyway. In fact, that leads me to today’s devotional which is really why I wrote today. God is so good in light of my need of Him! Again, I am going to quote from the book  JESUS CALLING by Sarah Young.

I am ever so near you, hovering over your shoulder, reading every thought. People think that thoughts are fleeting and worthless, but yours are precious to Me. I smile when you think lovingly of Me. My Spirit, who lives within you, helps you to think My thoughts. As your thinking goes, so goes your entire being. Let Me be your positive Focus. When you look to Me, knowing Me as God with you, you experience Joy. This is according to My ancient design, when I first crafted man…I planted that longing in human souls, knowing that only I could fully satisfy it. Delight yourself in Me; let Me become the Desire of your heart.

Psalm 37: 4-7, 23-24 Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust him and he will do this. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm, though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

These particular scriptures are really important to me-have been for a long time for so many reasons.  I do know that 3 children are here in our family because of claiming this promise–my youngest child among them. I know of many other blessings of the Lord as well. Each time it is easier to wait on Him, knowing the blessing is coming. So let us all be careful of our thoughts! Our holy God’s Spirit does live within us!

REBOOTED and REFRESHED!!!

Posted by Cindy H French on 10/28/2013

I hope my techie friends like my title! But truly I feel like God gave it to me yesterday when He began speaking to me about coming back to the blog and about what I would be writing. He said first an apology was in order: and it definitely is! I never have the right to use this blog to spout off about my own feelings or political agenda especially when those feelings expressed in the way in which they were, would never have been expressed by Jesus Himself! So I definitely apologize!

Next, He told me about some of what we are going to be talking about-first-my absolutely fabulous weekend with my dear sister from Florida who flew in so that we could go to Women of Faith this weekend. Now if you have been reading me for more than a year, you know all about WOF, but for those of you who do not know, please let me tell you that if you are female, you should stop reading this right now and go online to WomenofFaith.org. Look and see if any of the dates left in the year are near a city near you. If so, I would tell you that you should let nothing stop you from going with every female you can tell/talk into going with you. And even if you go by yourself, you will make friends! You will be astonished and astounded, laugh till you can’t anymore, cry like a baby, sing with your whole heart and that’s just the first night!!! Then you go the whole next day, Saturday. It is something I look forward to all year. My sister and I have been going about 10 years-maybe more-we are not exactly sure. All we know is that nothing we are doing in our lives keeps us from going together to a conference. Can you tell we highly recommend this? So if you haven’t gone to one and can, please, please for your own very special good–I promise you this conference is made for us females in a way that no other conference has satisfied–for me, anyway.

So let me tell you first what was the most  important thing I heard over and over all weekend?  Our God is just absolutely  in love with us, His people!! He is NOT Like the Principal or Headmaster spanking you or punishing you or handing out demerits! That’s not Who God is! He is our loving, most generous, heavenly Father Who wants to do good and wonderful things for His Children. Yes, I am hearing those of you who don’t have a good father image in your background and so say, ” I don’t trust that image.”  My earthly father or stepfather beat, abused, abandoned, sexually abused, didn’t provide for, was a drunk, was a hypocrite, emotionally distant, didn’t love me enough or at all, whatever else that person did who hurt you. I am here to tell you that God is more than enough of a FATHER in every way to take the risk with Him that He is Who He says He is.

Luke 1:37 clearly proclaims ” God can do anything!”

This was the theme of our conference and I have to admit, we saw and heard it in every story. We heard about it when so many people were raising their hands, asking for prayer for giving their lives to Christ for the first time. And then as I watched in the last presentation of music and video as my Christ Jesus was crucified, I thought, is there anything in my life more important than Him? Nothing can be! Because of what He did for me I must, absolutely must do as He directs, whatever it is. And so my title…

I can tell you that I don’t know exactly where and what God will do with us this year, now. We are praying for the correct where, why, what and how. But of this one thing I am sure. Wherever, however, the Whoever doing the leading will not be in doubt. Sometimes, rebooting and refreshing is good!

May I thank everyone for praying for my back? It is better. I had a series of injections, including trigger point all down my leg because the part of my  back that is messed up connects with my sacroiliact joint which  is on the lower side of the spine. The muscle and ligaments in the region are exceptionally prone to injury. And the doc thinks mine were injured along with my back just being sprained when I was tipped over backwards during a security pat-down at the Chicago airport. So this last procedure on Tues, the 22nd was terribly important as they really don’t want to give me anymore injections. This is the best I have felt for as long as I have. Tomorrow I start physical therapy. That too is the Father’s provision for me. For some reason, my policy does not require a co-pay for PT! so even if I have to go 3 times a week to start, I can! I certainly could not have paid $120/week! Our Lord does go  before us and prepare things for us even before we know we have need of them! How very thankful I am, I was when I was told! How quickly I remembered from my  Bible study lesson in Matthew 7: 9-11  “Which of  you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him?”

Anyway, the Lord was listening to me last week and answered a great need! I am so grateful! This carried over to my business as well! and then to be so incredibly blessed by Him at the conference and wait till I come back to you again with what I am learning from Matthew!!

G’night

Why Study the WORD?

Posted by Cindy H French on 10/07/2013

Sometimes I am asked why in the world I believe that the Bible is the Holy Word of God. Why in the world I study it. Before I tell you of my personal experience with it, let me give you the facts of it. The Bible was written by 40 different authors, most of whom didn’t know one another, over the course of 1500 years. It was written in 3 different languages, but with one continuous story through out those 66 “books”, written by men, but inspired by God. This Holy Book is prophetically accurate. There are over 300 prophecies alone about Jesus Christ. Many of which were fulfilled on the day of his birth. The odds of just 8 of those prophecies being fulfilled would be 1 to the 17th power!! That is astronomical!! The Bible is God’s love letter to us. It is present; it can be known; He reveals Himself on the pages. You want to know what God is like? Then just look at Jesus. He said, “if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. If you have heard me, you have heard the Father.” What about science and the Bible? If you read the news or listen to the news, you know that science is constantly changing. However the Bible is not. These days, there are more elements, less planets, but God’s Word never changes. Ephesians 1:4 says  For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  That goes right along side of Genesis 1:26, 27 Then God said, ” Let us make man in Our image, in Our likeness”…So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them. The Bible tells me I was not randomly created. I was deliberately, divinely designed, as all people are! We are not descended from monkeys! And to this day scrolls are still being discovered that are hundreds, sometimes thousands of years old, but every word, every jot and tittle is the same as our Holy Bible today. God Protects His Word throughout the Ages. Coming to study the Word of God myself was not an automatic thing on my part. I did study for my Bible classes at church or for those I taught, but to study because I just wanted to know for myself wasn’t the reason. My mother was always after me to read the Word and I would tell her I liked to study it, but I needed the “down time of fiction” too. But in 1993 as I was going through the last bit of reconstruction surgery from my breast cancer, I had an asthma attack under anesthesia and woke up with a tube in my throat in a hospital room instead of in the clinic where I had been. During this time, I had a ‘dream’. I was standing before God and he asked me how I had spent my life. Not well I had answered. And then he had asked me if I knew any of the people gathered around the throne. I didn’t know a lot of them, but some I did, because I had read my Bible stories as a child. I was ashamed and I asked for a 2nd chance. That I would study and read His Word, that I would make Him proud of me His daughter-because that’s what I became when I was born into His family when I accepted His Son as my Savior when I was 20 years old. So that is when I began my own personal Bible study. I have completed many different kinds and they are all great studies. Precept Studies-Kay Arthur, Beth MooreQuarterly Women’s Studies at Church, but for me, the best fit has been Bible Study Fellowship International. I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you have any interest in a Bible study that will teach you how to study, this is a good one. You can go as deep as you want or not, depending on the time you have available. So now you know why I study because I promised but also because I asked that the Lord would put a hunger for His Word in me and He has indeed! He answers all of my questions, gives me directions in everything I do. I have only to ask. This year as I said before, we are studying the gospel of Matthew. He wrote this specifically to the Jewish nation. He wrote to prove that Jesus Christ was just exactly who he said he was. Matthew was originally called Levi, the tax collector. All tax collectors had a form of shorthand! I didn’t know that, did you? That means that what Matthew wrote was pretty much word for word what Jesus said! Jesus quoted over 60 times from the Old Testament and so Matthew as the first gospel is a good bridge into the New Testament if you are reading it for the first time. Matthew had come to know that Jesus was the answer to all of his questions. He presents Jesus as an invitation to come to Him to find the answers to your questions. I know that God shaped a vacuum in every person that can’t be filled by anything that we pursue, but only by the Holy Spirit that comes inside with our acceptance of His Son. So I invite you to open up Matthew the first chapter. Read that genealogy! No one can now come and say “I am the Christ the Son of David and here is my lineage”. Do you know why? All of the records that proved that Jesus was exactly who he said he was, were destroyed when the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. That is essential as are so many other specific prophesies. There are so many books out there that speak to this. One of the best is Josh McDowell’s “Evidence That Demands a Verdict”. Another prophecy is that Jesus would be born of a virgin. A lot of people don’t think that is so very important. But it is! If he is not truly the Son of God, then all I believe is for naught. There is a great book “The Chemistry of the Blood by Dr DeHahn that is fascinating and you will never doubt again after you read it.  I think that is enough for tonight.  Please keep praying for my back. I hope to be able to have an MRI this week.

AND ALL THINGS CAN BE NEW AGAIN!!!

Posted by Cindy H French on 05/02/2013

As of today, May 1, I am employed by World Bridge Partners out of Omaha Nebraska, by a franchisee of  MRI NETWORK  that I have known for 25 years.  This is a person that I highly regard both personally and spiritually and professionally. It was just a month ago that he and I were renewing our acquaintance as he asked for my help in mentoring his son in legal recruiting. I spent the next day working with a young man who soaked up everything I said like a sponge and asked the most intelligent  questions!  Once I gave him a partner level candidate, he also wrote the most beautiful script I’ve ever  read about a candidate and I told him to start making calls on the candidate’s behalf the next day. He called almost in a panic after just a couple of hours of calls. He was getting responses within 10 minutes of his calls-wanting more information, a resume or an interview-and what should he do next? WOW  Thank goodness it was a Friday! It gave me time to get with my candidate and tell him who was interested in his bio/no name/no firm so who might he want to speak with? He chose to do his due diligence over the weekend and first thing on Monday, I knew who he wanted to see. Now he is going forward in the process and we are very excited about that as my young friend had not gotten so far in a year; nor did he realize that corporate contracts are to be negotiated on both sides, including payment terms. I am of course, thrilled to be able to bring anything to the table. This will be a win/win/win for everyone. More than just helping mentor this young man, I began to see a well run franchise that had made it through the recession, still took good care of its recruiters-in fact valued them-and I began to ask the Lord, “Have you brought them to my attention for a reason? Am I supposed to ask for a job?”

You all know I have been studying the book of Genesis this year in BSF. Just lately we have been studying the life of Joseph. Sold by his brothers into slavery, into Potiphar’s house where he rose to the role of managing the household, and then thrown into prison after being unjustly accused by Potiphar’s wife of attempted rape, he rose again to oversee the prison under the warden. Those two jobs prepared him for the number 2 job under Pharaoh that he would have after he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream’s by the grace of God. Last week when I had determined that it was ok for me to ask for a job with this man and we began to talk of what might could be–oh my goodness–did I begin to see parallels!  For the very first time, I actually thought that my desert, my pruning, my fire, my refining, might not all be about discipline and getting me ready for heaven, but ready for something else God wants me to do here!

WOW!! How GREAT is that at almost 62!! and having had a stroke even a mini one just 45 days ago, even if it wasn’t my fault? Because as you all have been with me on this journey, you know that I have found out that material things are nice, but not important unless it’s matter of keeping warm or comfortably cool or medical bills paid, medicine paid for, basic groceries paid for. I am no longer about all the stuff I accumulated. it’s long gone and I don’t have any room for it in my life or my place any more. What’s more important is what decision I have made in an action and has it damaged my witness? Cause I am far from perfect, but that is so important. I do not want Jesus Christ to be ashamed of me. Anyway this is going to make a huge difference in my life–already has. I have real hope about our circumstances going forward. I know the Lord can and does and did provide miracles every month but goodness, gracious, that’s hard on a body, on two people just striving as best they could! I know He expects people who can to work and so I am-doing what He has given to me to do. Just this time, I have those basics that most employed people expect-benefits, expenses, a more than generous draw. I have to tell you that when he made the offer, the scripture running through my head was how “He is able to  abundantly supply more than we ask, or expect or even dream of.”  I can only say that because I have almost  learned to live on a minimum wage draw. Now OF COURSE everything wasn’t getting paid on time or at all, but we were alive, had enough to eat, power, gas in the one car, a credit card paid for that. Now everyone can get caught up for which I am so very VERY  thankful! I don’t like owing good people money, so now I can start to take care of that.

Thank the Lord for the people in my church that have kept me with health insurance–again, the Lord has been ever so close through all of this time. I thank Him and all of those who have helped us. Once we are back on our feet,  we can go back to helping others as we used to do. Thank you for all of your prayers for this also. I know you were also praying for a miracle for me and IT HAS HAPPENED!

God Bless and Good night–

Cindy

GOD SPEAKS!!!

Posted by Cindy H French on 03/31/2013

I was listening to a sermon online tonight from Palm Sunday. I was visiting the church site to see who and what they were about as you really couldn’t tell from the name. but oh, how I got blessed by all the reading I did and then the listening I did to the sermon…

There was one big important principle: “When God speaks, He really means what He says!” Let me give you an example:

Genesis 1:1…27   In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was dark and formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. God SAID let there be light, and there WAS light…And God SAID let there be an expanse between  the waters to separate the water under the expanse from the water above it. AND IT WAS SO…God SAID let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear. AND IT WAS SO…Then God SAID Let the land produce vegetation: seed bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their kinds. And God SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.

Are you getting the picture here? God speaks and He really means it. Of course from there He went on to personally hang the moon and the sun and put the stars out one by one. He knows them all by name and they make music back to him. I know I blogged about that a couple of years ago (see Psalms 148) And after the sun and the moon, here comes the creatures, flying, crawling, racing, thumping, scampering, even, slithering, or just moseying along like cattle do. And finally here is the sixth day. Only He can do it justice:

God said, “Let us make man in our image in our likeness…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Do you notice  that the fact that we are created in His own image is apparently so very important that God repeated TWICE? He created us to be a reflection of Him! Of course I could get on my platform and talk about how none of us, not one of us is close to a reflection of Him. I could talk about the state of our America and a poll I saw this week that said 73% of Americans are ok with same sex marriage-this was from a very conservative pollster! But I only want to talk about what God has said to me today to write for me and for you possibly. There is so much promise is this scripture that I am excited to see what God is going to do! Because I know I can’t do it-Without Him I can do nothing at all, but these days unless He leads the way and pushes me from behind, I might not make it there. But now I know that I will. I have every confidence that I will. All because of Jesus !! So the rest of my post is from the book of Joel, a great prophet of the Lord, both for Israel then and for us now. Remember, keep watching!

Joel 2:12-13″Even now, ” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate slow to anger and abounding in love,  and he relents from sending calamity.

25-26  I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten -the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.

28-32   And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.  Even on my servants, both the men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And everyone who calls upon the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the survivors whom the Lord calls.

May I say that the first section is our chance to make everything right with the Lord right now. The  second section says to me that He will restore to my life the years that the locusts have eaten-even if I was allowing it! Oh and He does mean that literally too. Israel has been attacked horendously by locusts! If THIS is happening now and the Lord says He is there and that His people won’t be shamed again–well, sounds like trumpets to me!!  The third passage speaks of two times right now, because indeed we are seeing the Lord’s Spirit poured out all over the globe where people are hungry for Him; there is prophecy and I know for a fact that in particular Muslim men, the old ones dream of Jesus, the young see visions of Him. These are the Muslim men who honestly seek after God. And He says, if you seek me you will find me. And finally we have certainly seen the wonders of the heavens showering down among us and the incredible increase in volcanic activity over just the past 18 months! I do think based on some teaching I have had that the Moon and the Sun happenings do wait until the Tribulation.

So GOD SAID! DO YOU BELIEVE IT?

OH GLORY! OUR GRACIOUS LORD ANSWERS!!

Posted by Cindy H French on 03/30/2013

I have just come home from one of the most glorious Good Friday Services  I think I have ever attended! The Holy Spirit was there and just blessing us through the music and through the speaking of the Word. What was really special was that my sister had arranged with a couple of her “prayer warrior friends” to anoint me and pray for me before the service. What was REALLY GREAT was that my foot woke up! It had been asleep since I woke up “frozen” that Friday morning the 15th! Now that gives  me REAL HOPE that the rest of the things they prayed for me will happen as well. This important because today I was referred to a hematologist because they can not get my blood numbers to stabilize with the Coumadin I am on. It doesn’t seem to matter if I am on a lot or a little. I can have way too much or way too little-like today-way too little, but two bad nose bleeds and I’ve never had those before! That’s like the opposites of each other! How many times have I remarked I am strangely and wonderfully made??

Now let me tell you about MADDOX!  About midnight right after I posted my request that you pray for him, and you must have started immediately, because his mother said the ketones started coming down after midnight and NOW HE IS HOME! HOME FOR EASTER!! THANK YOU DEAR ONES WHO LOVE JESUS  AND LITTLE ONES TOO!  I found out that Maddox has to have insulin shots 5 times a day. I say, let’s all pray for his total healing so that this is not something he has to deal with the rest of his life. Let him learn early the healing touch of Jesus. So Please Pray and I will let you know when the Lord heals him.

Now I will close with this blessing from Hebrews about the BLOOD of Jesus which is the only reason we are all here today together and looking forward to celebrating His resurrection on Sunday–because without that shedding of BLOOD There would have been NO RESURRECTION to celebrate.

Hebrews 13: 20-21  May the god of Peace who the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead  our Lord Jesus Christ, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equp you with everything good for doing his will and may he work in us what is what is pleasing to him through Jesus  Christ, to whom be glory for ever  and ever.  Amen.

A CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE

Posted by Cindy H French on 03/10/2013

You always know that the Lord is telling you something important and specific when all of your devotional and Bible study material come together! As you all know we are in a new place. Relearning our way around, renewing friendships, finding a new church home, and for me figuring out how I might fit in this Atlanta market have made this a challenging first month (and a few days).  I’ve been asking for particular guidance and finally I think I have some answers -which are not new principles by any stretch- or any new revelation-but simply the Lord saying what He has said for generations to anyone like me who has asked the same questions- “Follow my Precepts”. Ok,  then let’s look at what His Precepts might be.  The dictionary says that a precept is a command or a principle intended as a general rule of action or conduct. So Biblically,  God wants me to follow His commands for my conduct and my actions. How do I find out what those commands might be so that I can follow them? The only Book that God wrote is His Holy Bible and it was written to instruct us and to guide us as so many denominational statements about the Bible and their belief in the Bible were stated for the world to know what they believed. Now, let me stop right here as say I am not going to attack any denomination for what they have or have not done. This is NOT about any of THAT.

As I read the scriptures that have the word precept in them, they pull me in a whole different direction. Let me show you. I can’t write out as much scripture as I would like to but I hope you will bear with me as God is leading me as I write this and I will put in what He wants. The first scripture to mention the word precept in Psalm 19:8, but this is one of those times that if you only read the one verse, you will not get the whole meaning of the passage.

Psalm 19:7-14 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The .precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.  The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether  righteous. They are more precious than gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from a comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgressions. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer

Now can you see why it was important to have the verses around verse 8 written out too? It gives a whole different feeling and prospect to the passage. It becomes very important now. You take notice! The first thing I did was  to see if indeed I have joy in my heart, light in my eyes? I have to tell you that my eyes weren’t as bright as they have been-because again I am asking and seeking.  But my joy is there!  and do you know why? Because joy is a gift of the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t depend on circumstances to be joyful-it just is. And when I let that joy go and think of all the wonderful blessings that  I have and the answers to questions that I do have, well, the joy just gets bigger!  Then think about the fear of the LordThis simply means  to revere Him.  So often flippant language about God , the relationship or prayer, or a story will reveal a lack of reverence for His true Presence. I know I can admit it because I am forgiven those times I have been flippant. It is easy in our world today, very easy not to give Him the Utmost Reverence. Wait what does reverence really mean? Worship and adore, honor and respect; four little words that are probably the most important words in our language. I would add two more, forgiveness and acceptance.  A person can live a life pleasing to the Lord and to his fellow man if he practices those  six words. wow, six little words could change your world, could change my world.  Worship, Adore, Honor, Respect, Forgiveness and Acceptance.  Anybody up for a trial, that you would be willing to really try and live these six words just for a week? Keep track of anything different in peoples’ attitudes or your attitude in your quiet time,  and then next week, let me know?  And of course I will be doing it too. I can’t ask ya’ll to do something I wouldn’t do. So now it is on my calendar to tell ya’ll of my experiences as well.  I just bet we’re all in for something Good!

Psalm 111:1-10  Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered. The Lord is gracious and compassionate. He provides food for those who fear him ; he remembers his covenant forever. he has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. The work  of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are steadfast forever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness.  He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever– holy and awesome is his name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

I don’t know about ya’ll but I think we are onto something good here! This is real life  stuff. Our Lord knew that we were concerned about paying the bills, our home, our clothing, our children, even education–because He addressed every issue in His Word.  We are living in perilous times, certainly what I believe as so many other Bible believing Christians do,  the last days. Ours is the first generation that could spread the gospel literally to every part of the world. Our Lord said when that was done, to look for Him, because He was coming when that was done. The Prophets wrote of signs in the heavens and signs in the earth. I would say that we certainly have had an up tick of those events–all the more reason to try our little experiment. I look forward to hearing from each one of you.  May the Lord God bless you for your efforts.

There Are Hardly Words…Yet Someone Has to Speak…

Posted by Cindy H French on 12/16/2012

I just finished watching the Mike Huckabee show on Fox. I didn’t even hear of the holocaust for that was what it was for those children, those teachers until late yesterday afternoon. This time I have deliberately not watched the television or read much about it, because truthfully it was more than I could process myself.  Not that Meningitis is as serious a thing as what has happened in this small town in CT, but what I have found meningitis to do to me as person is more surprising. I don’t remember this same reaction 2 years ago. It was also viral meningitis-but different virus they say. And no I can’t help it-it has to do with the immunity issue. Obviously I will no longer be able to take any immuno suppressant drugs for my RA, in fact nothing but pain pills for the moment. The doctor is afraid he might kill me with the next infection that doesn’t respond to antibiotics. Of course, I try to tell him that question, time and day are quite up to the Lord, only He knows how many days of life I have written in that Book. And mostly I have to admit that my pain is still not unbearable like it used to be. I’ve asked the Lord to heal me completely my goodness look at how well I did w/out the pain, I can only imagine what I might be like again if I were whole. To that end, I am putting it out there, that I have prayed with a man who has the gift of healing from God the Holy Spirit. I know this Spirit well, He has resided in me over 40 years and so Spirit recognizes Spirit. I think certainly the Lord expects us to test that and know what we are dealing with. I know that my encapsulated shoulder is no longer encapsulated. Before I couldn’t use the arm hardly at all. Now, it is normal. I believe that I was healed so well from the pulmonary embolism this summer because of prayer and very specific prayer for healing. My doctors said there is no sign or evidence of scarring from the embolism like they would have expected. I say Hallelujah! So with a meningitis diagnosis and a hospital ya’ll all know where I have been. I had prayed all day Saturday as it was coming on me, not for it to be so bad-but I know what His expectation is when I go. I told Him I hurt so bad, how was I going to be able to speak with anyone? that’s when He reminded me from Matthew 10:19-20 do not worry about what to say or how to say it; when the times comes you will be given what you should say.  For it will not be just you speaking, But the Spirit of your heavenly Father speaking through you.

It truly was that way. I was checked into my room about 5 am. The nurse was very nice and as she went through my history, she kept exclaiming over it and she kept telling me how positive I was about it all. I just said It’s God that makes the difference. But that was all I said. She finished asking finally and turned and began walking out of the room. When God wants you to do something, it doesn’t matter how you feel. You just have to do it. I said to her, “wait, just a minute I’ve got a question for you! So she turned back around to hear my question which was-If you meet God tonight what will  you tell him when He asks you why He should let you into His heaven? She said oh I am going to tell Him I have always wanted to be a part of all that love and goodness and that’s why. I said  You’d be a little too late. you see, you have to decide to be for Jesus or against Jesus when you are alive on earth. I gave her many scriptures I have given here before, but in my words, Jesus is speaking and saying Hey there!! I am knocking on your Door of your  Heart and if anyone hears Me and Opens the Door, I will come in to Him and I will stay with Him forever, as in never leave you, you can’t make me go either, I will love you forever and ever and ever. Aren’t those exciting words? I love knowing that Very God is living inside of me-not because I deserve it or that it’s even clean enough in there for Him. However I will tell you He has been working diligently to clean me up-areas and closets full that I didn’t know I had. But He knew and so they have to go. Well that’s a whole ‘nother topic too-so just to finish the story. I asked the nurse if she understood now how to become a part of God’s family. Oh yes, she did; I expected us to talk again that night so that I could make sure she had prayed and was sure of her commitment. But when I asked for her I was told, “she’s a floater, you won’t see her again.”  Oh that hand on my shoulder again! This time showing me it was a good thing that I had reached out when I did-no second chance there!!
